Professor Emeritus of Orthodontics at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea. Former President of Korean Association of Orthodontists. Former President of World Society of Lingual Orthodontics (WSLO). One of the world's most experienced clinicians in orthodontic microimplant anchorage.

Over 40 years of academic and clinical experience in orthodontics since joining Kyungpook National University faculty. Retired in February 2022 after distinguished career establishing Kyungpook National University as international center of excellence in orthodontic microimplant research and clinical application. Pioneer in development of orthodontic temporary anchorage devices (TADs), having placed and studied thousands of microimplants since early 1990s. Developed surgical protocols, biomechanical principles, and clinical applications for TADs that became standard worldwide.

International authority on skeletal anchorage having trained hundreds of orthodontists from around the world through hands-on courses and fellowship programs at Kyungpook National University. Active member of E.H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. Former editor and reviewer for multiple international orthodontic journals. Delivered keynote lectures at major orthodontic congresses worldwide on microimplant biomechanics, clinical applications in complex cases, lingual orthodontics, and evidence-based treatment protocols.

DDS from Kyungpook National University. PhD in Orthodontics. Published extensively in leading orthodontic journals establishing scientific foundation for safe and effective use of microimplants. Research focus on success rates of TADs, factors affecting stability, biomechanical loading protocols, treatment of severe anterior open bite with skeletal anchorage, and three-dimensional tooth movement control. Co-authored textbooks on microimplant orthodontics translated into multiple languages. Mentored numerous graduate students who became leaders in orthodontics across Asia and worldwide. Recipient of multiple awards from Korean Association of Orthodontists and international orthodontic organizations recognizing contributions to advancement of orthodontic specialty.
