Ortodoncista e inventor especializado en ortopedia funcional y ortopedia dentofacial. Inventor de aparatos Twin Block (1977) y aparatos linguales TransForce (2004). Fundador de New Horizons Orthodontics en Escocia.

 

Más de 50 años de experiencia en práctica ortodóncica desarrollando aparatos funcionales innovadores para corrección de maloclusión Clase II y desarrollo de arcadas. La técnica Twin Block se convirtió en el aparato funcional más ampliamente utilizado en todo el mundo para avance mandibular, documentado en miles de casos clínicos exitosos. Desarrolló Fixed Twin Blocks representando el siguiente avance lógico en terapia ortopédica funcional. En cooperación con Ortho Organizers, diseñó aparatos linguales invisibles TransForce para tratamiento interceptivo mediante desarrollo de arcada, adecuados para tratamiento desde dentición mixta hasta terapia de adultos.

 

Conferenciante internacional habiendo presentado cursos en más de 50 países durante 35 años de actividad educativa. Primer receptor del Award of Distinction de British Orthodontic Society por contribución sobresaliente a la especialidad de ortodoncia. Receptor de premio de International Functional Association (IFUNA) en 2008 por servicio internacional personal sobresaliente al funcionalismo y ortodoncia.

 

BDS. DDO (Diploma in Dental Orthopedics). DDSc (2010), tesis titulada "New Horizons in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics." FDSRCS Eng (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England). Autor del libro de texto "Twin Block Functional Therapy: Applications in Dentofacial Orthopaedics" (Mosby, 2002), la referencia definitiva sobre técnica Twin Block traducida a múltiples idiomas.
