- Dental Photography. 21st century standards
The main purpose of photography in dentistry is documentation. The aim is to capture as much information as possible under reproducible conditions. For this purpose, the camera used, its accessories and the format and illumination of the dentistry-relevant intra- and extraoral photographs must be standardized. Under standardised photographic conditions, the photographs taken are comparable, even if the subsequent photographs are taken at long intervals and by different photographers. Only in this form can dental photography be used as a valuable documentation aid.
The standards described by Wolfgang Bengel in 1985 are still valid, but they would have to be updated and adapted to technical innovations. In this webinar, the current development in the field of dental photography and related areas will be briefly explained.
