This lecture is designed to address common problems in diagnosis encountered when dealing with patients presenting with symptoms mimicking odontogenic pain. Most of those patients have undergone multiple dental interventions, which have resulted in exacerbation of their symptoms rather than relief. Neurovascular orofacial, and neuropathic pain syndromes are some examples. The second part of the lecture will deal with common anesthetic problems and how to solve them, as well as a rationale for the use of analgesics and antibiotics in an Endodontists office.

Experto en endodoncia mejorada con microscopio y aplicaciones de tomografía computarizada de haz cónico (CBCT) para diagnóstico de casos complejos.
Miembro de Scientific Advisory Board para Journal of Endodontics (American Association of Endodontists), International Endodontic Journal (European Society of Endodontology), y Giornale Italiano di Endodonzia. Ex President de Mexican Association of Endodontists. Receptor de Samuel Seltzer Award por excelencia en investigación endodóntica de revista Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontology (2005). Conferenciante internacional con más de 500 presentaciones en 38 países incluyendo European Society of Endodontology Congress y American Association of Endodontists Annual Meeting. Autor de 84 publicaciones revisadas por pares en principales revistas endodónticas. Autor contribuyente de "Irrigation in Endodontics" (2015), "Atlas of Endodontic Surgery" (2017), y "Endodoncia" (2011).
DDS de National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Ciudad de México (1989). Certificate en Endodoncia de Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts (1993). Formación postgraduada en microcirugía endodóntica de University of Pennsylvania (2016) y dolor orofacial de University of Louisiana (2018).
