Endodontist specializing in clinical endodontics, complex cases, and endodontic education. Director of Postgraduate Endodontic Program at Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer, Israel Defense Forces. Over 32 years of clinical and academic experience in endodontics since graduating in 1994. Received DMD degree from Tel Aviv University (1994). Completed three-year postgraduate specialty training in Endodontology at Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem (1999-2002). Clinical Instructor at Hebrew University, Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Department of Endodontics (2003-2010). Appointed Director of Postgraduate Endodontic Program at Sheba Medical Center (2011-present), training military and civilian dentists in advanced endodontic techniques.
International lecturer having presented at national and international congresses in Israel, Russia, Greece, Poland, Japan, Italy, Ukraine, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Moldova, Spain, France, Canada, and Slovenia. Regular instructor conducting comprehensive theoretical and practical courses on contemporary endodontics in Israel and Russia. Practice focuses on complex retreatment cases, management of endodontic complications, and interdisciplinary treatment planning for patients referred by specialists throughout Israel.
Invited Professor and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo, Brazil. Lieutenant Colonel in the Brazilian Military Police Dental Department (since 1994). Specialist in endodontics with focus on advanced root canal anatomy research using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) technology. Co-creator of "The Root Canal Anatomy Project," a free online educational resource providing high-resolution 3D images and videos of root canal systems for educators, students, and clinicians worldwide.
Over 30 years of combined clinical, military, academic, and research experience in endodontics. Pioneer in applying micro-CT technology to study root canal morphology and its influence on endodontic treatment outcomes. Research focuses on non-invasive 3D analysis of root canal anatomy, evaluation of root canal preparation techniques, canal obturation protocols, and retreatment procedures. Expert in identifying anatomical variations that impact clinical decision-making and treatment success. Maintains part-time clinical practice in Brazilian Military Police Dental Services alongside academic research position.
Member of the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Journal of Endodontics (official journal of the American Association of Endodontists) and the Editorial Board of the International Endodontic Journal (official journal of the European Society of Endodontology). One of the most cited endodontic researchers globally with over 150 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. Author of the influential textbook "Root Canal Anatomy in Permanent Dentition" (Springer, 2018, co-authored with Drs. Basrani and Sousa-Neto), translated into multiple languages and recognized as the definitive reference on root canal morphology. Co-author of "Shaping for Cleaning the Root Canals: A Clinical-Based Strategy," providing evidence-based protocols for canal instrumentation. International lecturer presenting worldwide on micro-CT applications in endodontics, root canal anatomy, and contemporary cleaning and shaping techniques.
