I hold a Ph.D. in Light-Based Skin Therapy (awarded in 2013). I am an RPA2000 certified in Non-Ionising Radiation protection, a UK Registered Clinical Technologist, holds a Cardiff University Law School Expert Witness Certificate, a past Fellow of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), a member of the European Society for Lasers and Energy Based Devices (ESLD) and the British Medical Laser Association (BMLA). I have published over 25 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical papers, I sit on the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation (CENELEC) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards committees. I currently serves as an invited expert observer on several Medical Device Coordination Group sub-groups developing the new European Medical Device Regulation.

I have been providing specialist courses in laser safety and laser applications for over 25 years and has developed customised courses for online delivery.

I am a Senior Research Fellow Ph.D., Department of Dermatology, Aalborg University Hospital, Aalborg, Denmark and a faculty participant at the Master Surgical Laser course, Nebrija University, Madrid.
