– Introduction to the GBR technique with cortical sheets
– Classification of crestal defects, mechanisms of bone resorption, review of the literature
– Scientific background and presentation of the different types of cortical sheets and indications for the use of the different types of sheets depending on the clinical situation
– Step-by-step surgical technique: from planning, to the type of incision, to the mobilization of the buccal and lingual flaps
– Suturing techniques to achieve primary closure
– Treatment of horizontal defects, vertical defects and combined (3D)
– Growth factors and fibrin glue
– Technique Modifications: F.I.R.S.T. (Fibrinogen Induced Regenerative Sealing Technique) and LEGO and their combinations
– Resolution of defects derived from peri-implantitis
– Resolution of cases with fractured and/or poorly positioned implants
– Use of the cortical lamina in aesthetic areas and treatment of multidisciplinary cases
– Complications and their management

Periodoncista especializado en regeneración tisular guiada, regeneración ósea guiada y cirugía plástica periodontal. Práctica privada en Génova, Italia, enfocándose en cirugía periodontal e implantológica.

 

Más de 35 años de experiencia clínica y académica en periodoncia regenerativa e implantología. Estableció práctica en Italia en 1993 después de completar posiciones de investigación y docencia en Estados Unidos. Especialista en manejo de defectos intraóseos, lesiones de furcación y cobertura de recesiones utilizando técnicas de regeneración tisular guiada y biomateriales. Reconocido internacionalmente como uno de los líderes mundiales en el campo de regeneración ósea.

 

Miembro fundador y Vicepresidente de Bone Biomaterials and Beyond Academy, promoviendo enfoques basados en evidencia para regeneración periodontal y ósea. Profesor en el programa de Máster en Periodoncia en Sapienza University of Rome desde 2000. Profesor en el programa de Máster en Implantología y Prótesis en University of Pisa desde 2010. Coordinador del Curso de Posgrado en Cirugía Periodontal e Implantológica en University of Padua (1995-1996). Conferenciante internacional impartiendo cursos sobre regeneración ósea, GTR y cirugía periodontal a nivel mundial.

 

DDS. Especialidad en Periodoncia con un año de experiencia en investigación y docencia en Estados Unidos. Master of Science in Dentistry in Periodontology (1992). Autor de más de 30 publicaciones revisadas por pares en revistas internacionales. Coautor del libro de texto "Bone Biomaterials and Beyond" (Quintessence), contribuyendo el capítulo sobre regeneración periodontal. Miembro activo de Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (IAED) y European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD). Miembro certificado de Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP).
