This course launches a three-module training program on the Kois Concept — one of the most systematic and evidence-based philosophies in modern prosthetic and aesthetic dentistry, developed by John Kois.

The Kois Concept is a clinically driven approach grounded in risk management, precise diagnostics, and a deep understanding of the relationship between function, aesthetics, and biomechanics.

The first module is dedicated to the foundation of the entire concept — systematic diagnostics and clinical data collection. You will learn a clear patient analysis algorithm that enables the identification of key risks at the planning stage and allows treatment to be built on a solid, objective foundation.

A step-by-step algorithm to pinpoint the “weakest link” and prevent clinical complications.
 

— Dento-Facial Analysis
Evaluation of aesthetic exposure (E-max), resting lip position, gingival contour, and anterior-posterior tooth positioning for facial harmony.
 

— Function and Diagnostics
Exploring the relationship between tooth form and function, and the role of the Kois deprogrammer in functional analysis.

The course lecturer, Tak-On Tse Ryan, is a student and devoted follower of John Kois, a practicing clinician, and educator. Dr. Ryan is a summa cum laude graduate and a mentor at the Kois Center in Seattle. He is also one of the few international mentors to co-author a landmark clinical publication with Dr. John Kois: “Digital Smile Design and the Dento-Facial Analyzer: Optimizing Aesthetics While Preserving Tooth Structure.”

— Kois 10-Step Diagnostic System:
 

- A structured workflow aimed at minimizing clinical complications and identifying the “weakest link.”

- Emma Analysis: E-max (aesthetic exposure), resting lip position, gingival margin contour
- AP Position: determining the optimal anterior-posterior tooth positioning for facial harmony.

Demonstration Masterclass (8 December 2026):

— Kois Glasses:

- Working with the Kois Dento-Facial Analyzer to record and align the maxillary plane relative to the horizon / natural head position.

— Kois Deprogrammer (KD):
 

- Step-by-step clinical fabrication, adjustment (ADJ), and delivery to the patient.

— Precise Bite Registration:
 

- Mastering KD-bite — obtaining a reproducible physiological centric relation record using the deprogrammer.

— Facebow:
 

- Clinical demonstration and hands-on practice of the Kois protocol for facebow registration and mounting in the articulator.

— Clinical Case Demonstration and Discussion:
 

- Using the Panadent articulator.
