Estomatólogo y cirujano oral y maxilofacial especializado íntegramente en trastornos de la articulación temporomandibular (ATM). Director Clínico, Instituto Português da Face (IPFace), Lisboa — el principal centro de referencia de Portugal para la patología y tratamiento de la ATM. Profesor y Director del Curso de Posgrado en Cirugía Abierta y Artroscopía de la Articulación Temporomandibular, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Lisboa. Profesor, Facultad de Odontología, Universidad de Lisboa.
Pionero en el desarrollo e implementación clínica de técnicas quirúrgicas mínimamente invasivas y regenerativas de la ATM en Portugal — incluyendo artrocentesis con Super-PRP (células regenerativas + ácido hialurónico), artroscopia de la ATM, cirugía abierta de la ATM y reemplazo total articular aloplástico. Desarrollador de un protocolo clínico integrado de 360° que abarca imagen diagnóstica (CBCT 3D), tratamiento conservador, inyección de toxina botulínica, artrocentesis, artroscopia, cirugía abierta y rehabilitación de fisioterapia postoperatoria. Investigador en la regeneración del disco de la ATM utilizando biomateriales y medicina regenerativa inteligente. Autor de docenas de publicaciones revisadas por pares como primer autor en las principales revistas de la especialidad. Primer Secretario, Orden de los Dentistas Portugueses (2016–2019).
Receptor de más de 11 premios de investigación nacionales e internacionales, incluido el prestigioso Premio al Investigador Joven de la Fundación Grunenthal en Dolor (2015). Investigador principal del ensayo preclínico TEMPOJIMS. Conferenciante internacional sobre diagnóstico de ATM, procedimientos mínimamente invasivos y cirugía abierta.
MD (Estomatología), Residencia en el Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, Lisboa (nota final: 19,6/20, 2012–2016). Candidato a PhD, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Lisboa (investigación en medicina regenerativa y biomateriales de la ATM).
