Hands-On Course with Yoshi Terauchi — your key to successful non-surgical root canal retreatment and predictable instrument fragment removal with minimal complications and long-term results!
Two intensive days of theory and practice await you.
During the theoretical part of the course, you will learn:
— Accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for non-surgical retreatment
— Effective and safe techniques for removing gutta-percha and bacterial biofilms from root canals
— Methods to prevent and bypass ledges in canals using predictable and practical approaches
— Innovative approaches to root canal obturation using MTA.
The practical part of the course will allow you to:
— Develop skills for precise and safe removal of instrument fragments using modern techniques and specialized equipment
— Learn to manage complications such as ledges and perforations, significantly improving treatment prognosis
— Gain confidence in applying comprehensive retreatment protocols aimed at long-term success and tooth preservation.
This course is a unique opportunity to master advanced techniques and significantly elevate the quality of your endodontic practice!

Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: Yoshi Terauchi’s Protocols
— Accurate diagnosis and treatment planning:
- How to differentiate odontogenic pain from non-odontogenic pain
- Diagnosis in retreatment cases.
— Causes of non-healing cases:
- Where are the bacteria causing apical periodontitis located?
- Where do biofilms typically form?
— Removal of gutta-percha and biofilms:
- Why is it necessary to remove gutta-percha during retreatment?
- What is the most effective method for removing filling material?
— Managing ledged canals:
- How to prevent ledge formation?
- Which techniques allow predictable and effective bypassing of ledges?
— Predictable and minimally invasive instrument removal:
- Practitioner preparation
- Diagnosis and treatment planning for broken instrument removal
- Key concepts of broken file removal (BFR)
- Root canal preparation methods
- Main techniques for broken file removal (BFR).
— MTA obturation in retreatment (perforation closure):
- Comparison of clinical properties and canal obturation using gutta-percha vs. MTA
- Predictable obturation techniques using MTA.
Hands-on (February 23, 2027)
Modern Approaches to Broken File Removal (BFR) and Ledge Management
— Participants will master key aspects of the clinical protocol and will be able to:
- Perform accurate diagnostics for broken file removal
- Develop predictable treatment plans for broken file removal
- Understand the principles of broken file removal in clinical practice
- Ensure minimally invasive and predictable canal preparation during broken file removal
