3-day comprehensive training covering both basic and advanced levels of splint therapy with Prof. Gregor Slavicek.

 

This practical course is ideal for:


– Experienced specialists in splint therapy seeking the latest knowledge and answers to complex questions
– Beginners looking for a solid foundation and an excellent introduction to splint therapy.

 

Throughout the course, you will learn how to:


– Select the most appropriate type of splint for various clinical scenarios
– Follow precise protocols for fabricating effective splints
– Determine suitable splint-wearing regimens tailored to each patient
– Monitor and manage patients undergoing splint therapy effectively.

 

In the practical part of the course, you will perform:


–  Wax modeling of the splint in the articulator
– Checking the splint in the articulator
– Replacing wax with acrylic resin
– Finishing and adjusting the final splint.

 

This training is valuable even for those not practicing within the Slavicek concept.

– Main indications for splint therapy
– Common splint designs
– Scientific data on splint therapy: literature review
– Upper jaw vs. lower jaw splints — when and why?
– Managing patients with vertical growth patterns and increased lower facial height
– Fabrication of intraoral splints and considerations for vertical dimension of occlusion
– Protrusion, retrusion, and anterior guidance
– Intraoral insertion and balancing: clinical protocols
– Nightwear or daytime use?
– 24 hours? 24 hours with meal breaks?
– Monitoring patient adaptation and occlusal balance.

 

Practical part | November 13

 

– Clinical case analysis
– Splint planning
– Wax modeling of the splint in the articulator
– Verifying the splint in the articulator

Ex Director de BID (Biomedical Interdisciplinary Dentistry) Transfer Institute en Steinbeis University Berlin (2008-2021). Especialista en odontología funcional, gnatología y tratamiento interdisciplinario de trastornos craneomandibulares. Mantiene práctica privada en Zahnmedizin im Rudolfinerhaus, Viena, Austria, como Research Fellow enfocándose en estudios clínicos de trastornos craneomandibulares, análisis funcional clínico y medicina de oclusión.

 

Más de 40 años de experiencia combinada clínica, académica e investigativa en odontología funcional y trastornos temporomandibulares. Experto en análisis funcional sistemático (SFA), condilografía, análisis funcional clínico, terapia de férula y rehabilitación oclusal de boca completa basada en reconocido Concepto Slavicek desarrollado por su padre, Professor Rudolf Slavicek. Pionero en desarrollar tecnologías diagnósticas digitales incluyendo sistema Orehab Condylocomp LR para registro preciso de movimiento condilar y Freecorder Bluefox para seguimiento mandibular digital. Investigación enfocada en biomecánica de ATM, bruxismo, diseño oclusal y enfoques cibernéticos a trastornos de sistema estomatognático.

 

Miembro Honorario de Romanian Dental and Maxillo-Facial Prosthetic Society (2019). Miembro Honorario de Italian Association of Gnathology (AIG, 2017). Visiting Professor en First Moscow State Medical University (I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University), Rusia (2013, 2014-2018). Honorary Professor en Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (2012). Miembro Permanente de University Council, Steinbeis University Berlin.
