Dentista restaurador e investigador de biomateriales especializado en odontología estética y restauraciones directas de composite. Profesor Asistente en el Departamento de Biomateriales y Biomimética con nombramiento secundario en el Departamento de Cariología en New York University College of Dentistry.

Más de 30 años de experiencia clínica y académica en odontología restauradora estética. Enfoque de investigación en biomateriales dentales incluyendo resinas compuestas, sistemas adhesivos y materiales de implantes. Desarrolló técnicas de estratificación simplificadas para restauraciones de composite estéticas predecibles utilizando sistemas de composite universales. Pionero en promover composites fluidos inyectables y técnica cuerpo-esmalte para restauraciones anteriores. Mantiene práctica privada en Curitiba, Brasil, dedicada exclusivamente a odontología estética.

Conferenciante internacional habiendo enseñado en más de 40 países sobre restauraciones estéticas, técnicas de composite y selección de biomateriales. Coordinador de múltiples programas de posgrado en odontología estética y restauradora en Brasil incluyendo programas en CETAO (São Paulo), SENAC (São Paulo) e ILAPEO (Instituto Latinoamericano). Ex miembro de la facultad en Federal University of Paraná durante 10 años. Publicó más de 100 artículos científicos en inglés, portugués y español.

DDS de Federal University of Paraná, Curitiba, Brasil (1995). Certificado en Residencia de Odontología Restauradora de Federal University of Paraná (1996). MSc en Biomateriales de Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brasil (2002), tesis sobre fibras de vidrio y polietileno para mejorar propiedades mecánicas de composites. PhD en Odontología Restauradora de State University of Rio de Janeiro (2009), tesis sobre transmitancia, reflectancia y fluorescencia de resinas compuestas. Certificado postdoctoral de New York University (2013) trabajando en aplicación de plasma en superficies dentinarias y análisis de resistencia de unión. Autor de libros de texto "TIPS in Esthetic Dentistry" (Artes Medicas, 2011) y "SHORTCUTS in Esthetic Dentistry" (Quintessence, 2017), ambos traducidos a tres idiomas. Coautor de "Just" (Quintessence, 2022). Autor de más de 10 capítulos de libros. Miembro del comité editorial de Journal of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry e International Journal of Brazilian Dentistry.

Dr. Marco Maiolino, graduated in Perugia’s University in 2001 with highest honors (110/110 cum laude),he is active member of SIDOC ( italian society of restorative dentistry) , ), followed a lot of perfection courses in particular in the field of endodontic, restorative and periodontics topics. He started to work with the aid of a surgical microscope from 2006. Founder together with dr. Pasquale Venuti of the “tomorrow tooth “ group for dental education with the aim to move dentistry toward a patient centered outcome. He works in a private practice at Siracusa , Italy as a general dentistry practicing all branches of dentistry.

Dr. Marco Maiolino is a general dentist practicing all branches of dentistry. He works in a private practice in Syracuse , Italy. He is the founder together with dr. Pasquale Venuti of the “Tomorrow Tooth “ group, a web based dental community whose aim is to change the focus in dentistry to a more sustainable practice and more patient oriented dentistry. He lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to restorative and prosthetic dentistry. He also write articles about dentistry life . User of magnification system from the beginning and microscope user from 2006. He graduated in 2001 with highest honors in Perugia university (110/100 cum laude).

Master of Science Degree in Prosthodontics.

President of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry. Board member of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED), USA from 2008 – 2012.

Has lectured internationally about Esthetic Dentistry. Maintains a private practice since 1983, and has focused on microscope enhanced dentistry since 1998.
