Especialista en dolor orofacial y Decano de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Kentucky. Fundador y director del Centro de Dolor Orofacial en la Universidad de Kentucky (establecido en 1977), reconocido como pionero en la educación sobre TTM y dolor orofacial.

 

Más de 50 años de experiencia académica y clínica en trastornos temporomandibulares y manejo del dolor orofacial. Desarrolló el primer programa de Maestría en Ciencias en Dolor Orofacial en los Estados Unidos, acreditado por la Academia Americana de Dolor Orofacial. El Programa de Residencia en Dolor Orofacial fue uno de los primeros acreditados por la Comisión de Acreditación Dental, graduando 65 residentes de tiempo completo de 26 países.

 

Profesor y jefe de la División de Dolor Orofacial, miembro del profesorado de tiempo completo en la Universidad de Kentucky durante 45 años. Conferenciante internacional habiendo impartido más de 1.300 conferencias invitadas en todos los estados de EE.UU. y 59 países extranjeros. Reconocido como el "Embajador Mundial del Dolor Orofacial" por sus colegas.

 

DMD de la Universidad de Kentucky (1974). Profesor Distinguido de Servicio del Rector. Autor del libro de texto "Tratamiento de los Trastornos Temporomandibulares y Oclusión" (8ª edición), traducido a 11 idiomas y utilizado en la mayoría de las escuelas dentales de EE.UU.
