– Keratinized tissue height and soft tissue thickness in the prevention of gingival recession around implants

– The "submarginal connective tissue graft technique".

Más de 37 años de experiencia clínica y académica en cirugía plástica periodontal y manejo de tejido blando alrededor de dientes e implantes. Graduado de University of Bologna (1988) y otorgado PhD en Biotecnología Médica de la misma universidad (1999). Nombrado Profesor de Periodoncia en University of Bologna en 2000, manteniendo esta posición continuamente por más de 25 años. Pionero e innovador de múltiples técnicas quirúrgicas para reconstrucción de tejido blando incluyendo Colgajo Avanzado Coronalmente Modificado, técnica de Plataforma de Tejido Conectivo y protocolos para reconstrucción de papila.
Autoridad internacional en cirugía estética mucogingival habiendo dado conferencias y realizado demostraciones quirúrgicas en vivo en conferencias importantes mundialmente. Ganador de prestigiosos premios de investigación: AAP Foundation-E Bud Tarrson Research Award in Oral Plastic Surgery (2006, 2008), European Federation of Periodontology Clinical Research Prize (2006) y AAP Foundation Lilly Research Award for Clinical Research (2003). Publicó más de 130 artículos científicos en revistas internacionales revisadas por pares con extenso registro de citas. Investigador más citado sobre procedimientos de cobertura de recesión globalmente.
DDS de University of Bologna (1988). PhD en Biotecnología Médica de University of Bologna (1999). Miembro activo de European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP), Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO) y European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). Editor Asociado de International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. Miembro del Comité Editorial de International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Clinical Periodontology y Journal of Periodontology. Revisor por pares para revistas periodontales más clasificadas. Autor del bestseller internacional "Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery" (Quintessence, 2012), traducido a 12 idiomas y reconocido como la referencia definitiva en cirugía plástica periodontal. Coautor del capítulo "Mucogingival Therapy—Periodontal Plastic Surgery" en "Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry" por Lindhe, Lang y Karring. Director del programa Master en Manejo de Tejido Blando Alrededor de Dientes e Implantes en University of Bologna.
